Terms and Conditions
Islamic Finance Diploma · Last updated: 8 October 2026
These terms apply to the Islamic Finance Diploma (“the Diploma”), delivered by IFA Education, the education arm of the Islamic Finance Advisory, 3rd Floor, Muslim Centre, 46 Whitechapel Road, London E1 1EJ (“we”, “us”), and to you as a student (“you”). By enrolling, you agree to them for the length of your studies. For any question before you enrol, email admissions@ifaeducation.com or book a live chat at ifaeducation.com/chat.
1. The programme
The Diploma runs for 24 months from the start date confirmed when you enrol. Teaching may include live online sessions, recordings, assignments, assessments and other learning activities.
We may update the curriculum, how it is delivered or the timetable where this is needed to maintain academic quality. We will tell you about any significant change in advance.
2. Your responsibilities
- Take part in scheduled sessions and complete coursework and assessments by their deadlines.
- Treat staff and fellow students with respect, and uphold academic integrity.
- Make sure you have the equipment and internet connection needed to study online.
- Keep your contact details up to date and tell us promptly of any change.
When you join, we give you our Code of Conduct, Academic Regulations, Appeals Policy and Complaints Policy.
3. Fees and payment
The fee for your chosen payment plan is shown when you enrol. Payment plans are fixed and cannot be changed after enrolment. The monthly and yearly plans are ways of paying the full fee for the two-year Diploma in instalments, not pay-as-you-go subscriptions.
- Monthly plan: £125 a month. The first payment is taken when you enrol; after that, payments are taken on the 15th of each month until all 24 have been made, £3,000 in total.
- Yearly plan: £1,295 a year. The first payment is taken when you enrol and the second on the same date the following year, £2,590 in total. We will remind you about two months before.
- One-off payment: £2,400, taken when you enrol.
Payments must be made on their due dates. If a payment is late, we may pause your access to learning materials until it is made. If fees remain unpaid for more than 30 days after the due date, we may end your enrolment under section 5.
4. Cancellation, withdrawal and refunds
Any refund depends on when you cancel or withdraw. Your enrolment date is the date of your first payment.
- Within 14 days of enrolling: you can cancel for a full refund, even if the Diploma has already started.
- More than 14 days after enrolling, but before the Diploma starts (Monday 11 January 2027): you can withdraw and we will refund everything you have paid, apart from a £125 administration fee.
- Once the Diploma has started (Monday 11 January 2027): we can no longer fill your place, so if you withdraw, the full fee for your payment plan remains payable: £3,000 on the monthly plan, £2,590 on the yearly plan or £2,400 on the one-off plan. If you were given a discount, the full fee is the discounted amount. Any instalments still to come are taken on their usual dates.
- Exceptional circumstances: if something serious happens, such as illness or bereavement, we may at our discretion offer a refund, a reduction or a pause in your fees.
To cancel or withdraw, write to the Admissions Team at the student email address in your enrolment confirmation. We will refund any money due within 14 days of hearing from you, to the card you paid with.
5. Ending your studies
You can withdraw at any time by writing to us; section 4 sets out what you pay or get back. We may end your enrolment if:
- fees remain unpaid for more than 30 days after the due date;
- you seriously breach academic integrity or the Code of Conduct;
- you do not meet the academic progression requirements; or
- you repeatedly miss sessions without a valid reason.
If your enrolment ends, your access to course materials and platforms ends with it, and section 4 applies to any fees as if you had withdrawn on that date.
6. Deferring
You can ask in writing to defer your studies. We consider each request on its circumstances and on places available in later cohorts, so approval is not guaranteed and may carry an administration fee. If you defer, you may join a later cohort and follow its curriculum.
7. Progression
The Diploma is made up of modules taught across two academic years. You need to reach the pass mark for each module to progress. If you fail a module, you may be offered one reassessment under the Academic Regulations. A second failure of the same module may lead to repeating it or to your studies ending, at our discretion. Progression decisions are made by our academic board or its delegate.
8. Assessment and the award
Assessment may include written assignments, projects, presentations, exams, practical work or portfolios. All work is marked against published criteria and moderated for fairness. To receive the Diploma you must complete all required modules and meet all academic requirements; if you do not, you may be eligible for an alternative or exit award where one applies.
9. Attendance and engagement
You are expected to attend and take an active part in all scheduled learning. We monitor attendance and engagement, and persistent absence or disengagement may lead to an academic review, a formal warning or the end of your enrolment.
10. Appeals
You can appeal academic decisions, including assessment results, progression decisions and disciplinary action. Appeals must be made in writing within the time set out in our Appeals Policy and are reviewed by a panel or officer not involved in the original decision. The panel’s decision closes our internal process.
11. Support and welfare
We provide academic and learning support throughout your studies. You can ask for reasonable support for learning difficulties, disabilities or health needs; please ask as early as you can, as we may need supporting documents.
12. Equality and respect
We are committed to an inclusive and respectful learning environment. Discrimination, harassment or victimisation on any grounds will not be tolerated, and every student is entitled to fair treatment and equal access to learning.
13. Certificates and records
When you complete the Diploma you will receive your certificate and an academic transcript. Replacements can be issued on request and may carry an administration fee. We keep records of your achievement in line with data protection law.
14. Information about the Diploma
We take care that our prospectus, website and other information about the Diploma are accurate. If something changes after you have enrolled, we will tell you. Completing the Diploma does not guarantee employment or professional recognition unless we say so explicitly.
15. Course materials
All course materials, including recordings, documents and resources, belong to us. They are for your own study and may not be copied, shared or distributed without our written permission.
16. Your personal information
We use your personal information to run your studies and to keep in touch with you, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
17. Our liability
We are not responsible for disruption caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as major technical failures or an instructor’s illness, though we will do our best to make up any teaching that is lost. Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the fees you have paid us. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or your legal rights as a consumer.
18. Complaints
If you are unhappy with anything, please write to the Admissions Team. We will handle your complaint fairly, confidentially and promptly, as set out in our Complaints Policy.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms for a valid reason, such as a change in the law or in how the Diploma is run. We will tell you about any significant change in advance.
20. Disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If a dispute arises, we will first try to resolve it with you directly. You may also choose to refer it to the Islamic Council (3rd Floor, Muslim Centre, 46 Whitechapel Road, London E1 1EJ) for arbitration, whose decision would then bind us both. This is your choice and does not take away your right to go to the courts.
